TWO of Rovers' highly-rated Academy players are taking part in the UEFA Under 17s Championships in Turkey over the next couple of weeks.

Winger Aaron Doran and defender Gavin Gunning are in the Republic of Ireland squad that has qualified for the finals which start this Sunday.

Ireland get Group B underway with a tricky match against France under 17s, before a match on Wednesday against Switzerland.

Their final group game takes place next Saturday against current holders Spain.

Group A features the hosts Turkey, along with Netherlands, Scotland and Serbia.

Two teams from each group progress through to the semi-finals, before the final takes place the evening of Friday 16th May.
