Home draw for Rovers
BLACKBURN Rovers have been drawn at home to Coventry City in the third round of the FA Cup sponsored by E-On.
Rovers were early out of the hat in this afternoon's draw, and Mark Hughes' wish of a home tie has come to fruition with a match against Iain Dowie's Championship side.
Coventry are currently mid-table and were beaten 1-0 against Sheffield United on Saturday, however they did knock Manchester United out of the Carling Cup earlier this season, so it promises to be an enticing tie.
Their assistant manager is a familiar and popular face to Rovers fans, Tim Flowers is sure to get a decent reception back at Ewood Park.
The two clubs last met in the fourth round of the competition back in the 1996/97 season, when despite Tim Sherwood giving Rovers a first minute lead, goals from Eoin Jess and Darren Huckerby saw the visitors win 2-1.
