GOALKEEPER Jason Brown has signed a new contract with Blackburn Rovers.

The former Charlton and Gillingham stopper has extended his stay at Ewood Park for a further three years with a new deal that will see him through to the summer of 2011.

The 25 year-old has found his chances behind ever-present Brad Friedel limited to just one substitute appearance for the first team, but made an immediate impression when he saved a penalty moments after his introduction as Rovers defeated Wigan Athletic 2-1 last season.

A Welsh international, Brown has had to be patient as Rovers' number two goalkeeper, but was happy to commit to a new long-term deal with the club.

Rovers World will be bringing an exclusive interview with Jason Brown later today.
