McEveley three month loan spell with Burnley
ROVERS have confirmed that Jay McEveley has joined neighbours Burnley on a three month loan.
The Liverpool-born teenager, who played in Rovers Reserves' victory over West Bromwich Albion, last night, could be in line to make his Nationwide Division One debut against Coventry City at Turf Moor this Saturday.
The teenage defender has recently returned from international duty with England under 20s in the FIFA Youth Championships in the United Arab Emirates.
Jay, a graduate of the Rovers Academy, first came to prominence last season with a string of impressive performances at left back with the first team.
He has made 14 senior appearances to date, in all competitions.
He is the second Rovers' defender to go on loan at Burnley this season. Andy Todd made seven league appearances for the Turf Moor side in September and October.
He was recalled in answer to a mounting injury crisis and has since established himself as a regular in the Premiership starting line-up.
