Delight for Souness as Rovers take the lead

ROVERS boss Graeme Souness was full of praise for his sides' battling qualities after they came back from 2-1 down to earn a point a Molineux this evening.

"I think a point was a fair result," said Souness after the game.

"We started well and we scored a good goal.

"Wolves had the wind at their backs in the second half, and we knew they'd come at us, but they scored two goals which from our point of view was very disappointing.

"But we kept going, which is something we didn't do against Birmingham at the weekend in the FA Cup."

Souness had words of praise for his substitute Dwight Yorke. "After we went down, Dwight Yorke came on and could have had a hat-trick.

"He is unhappy with me at the moment for not playing him from the start, but he's got a goal and he's shown me that he still wants to play here.

"Overall I thought a draw was a fair result."
