STAND UP AND BE COUNTED - SOUNESS

Souness: Our game plan went out of the window
GRAEME Souness has thrown down the challenge to his players - prove you are good enough to stay in this division.
The Rovers boss spoke after his sides' thumping 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield today.
The defeat still leaves Rovers perilously close to the drop zone, and with a "monster weekend" weekend coming up with games against Leeds United at Ewood Park and Fulham at Loftus Road.
"We were well and truly bashed up today," said Souness post match.
"We've played all the top teams so far this season, and we've given each opponent a good test except for today.
"We played second fiddle to them throughout.
"Our game plan was to keep it as tight as we could and frustrate them, but that went out of the window and after ten minutes it was game over.
"4-0 has not flattered them today, we were holding on desperately at times today."
Looking ahead to the remaining games, the manager said "The bigger picture is that we are in a precarious position.
"We have to regroup, look to the positives and take that to the next weekend which is a monster weekend for us with the two games.
"We understand how dangerous a position we find ourselves in, there are seven games to go and I feel we have to win three of them.
"We have to show that we are men and that we are up to the challenge.
"We have to believe that we will stay up, we have to stand up and be counted."
Rovers World will bring you all the post-match reaction from Anfield on Monday's edition.
