Souness applauds the fans at the end of the game |
GRAEME Souness was a relieved man after seeing his side win their fourth home game this season, to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom three.
It certainly wasn't a classic, but Rovers had enough about them to keep on battling to earn all three points.
"It was a scrappy old affair, first half very nervous" said Souness on Radio Rovers after the game.
"There was some great performances, Jon Stead worked his socks off, he was different class.
"The two centre-halves were outstanding, they needed to be good today if we wanted to win today.
"We've missed Amoruso, the fans have taken him to their hearts, he was outstanding.
"The job is not over, we still have to win maybe one more and draw one, but it is a big win for us today.
"We battled away today, it wasn't pretty it wasn't my type of football, but we got the result today.
"Until it is mathematically impossible for us to go down we won't celebrate anything," added the Rovers boss.
