Friedel will miss the last two games of the season |
BRAD Friedel has injured a groin muscle and is struggling to be fit for the final run-in.
The popular goalkeeper collected the painful strain with the last kick of the game against Manchester United and is doubtful for the Premiership clash with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart lane on Saturday.
Brad has been an ever-present this season and clinched a hat-trick of clean sheets last Saturday as Rovers beat Manchester United and secured their Premiership safety.
Failure to pass a fitness test could see Peter Enckelman make his first team debut for Rovers after moving to Ewood Park from Aston Villa on a permanent basis in January.
Meanwhile, Craig Short has recovered form the thigh muscle problem which sidelined him against Manchester United and is in contention for the match at Tottenham.
Craig joined defensive partner Lorenzo Amoruso in the treatment room as Markus Babbel and Nissa Johansson stepped up to replace them against the Reds.
With Craig returning after treatment, Graeme Souness could re-shuffle the defence again as Rovers travel to London looking for a fifth successive win. Lorenzo, who has a hamstring problem, is not expected to be fit.
