ROVERS star David Bentley may have to settle for a place on the bench as England take on France in Paris this evening.

With Fabio Capello looking set to award David Beckham his 100th cap, the Rovers midfielder, who impressed all on his first England start against Switzerland last month, is the likely casualty.

England boss Capello wouldn't be drawn on his starting eleven ahead of the game, but has admitted that Beckham will play some part in the match.

If Bentley does play some part in the game, it will be his fifth international cap.

A host of other Rovers players are in action this Wednesday. Aaron Mokoena and Benni McCarthy will line up against Roque Santa Cruz as South Africa take on Paraguay in Pretoria, and fellow striker Jason Roberts is in Grenada for their World Cup qualifier against the US Virgin Islands.

Closer to home Andre Ooijer (Austria v Netherlands), Zurab Khizanishvili (Nothern Ireland v Georgia) and Morten Gamst Pedersen (Montenegro v Norway) should all feature for their respective countries, whilst Tony Kane should play for Northern Ireland's under 21s this afternoon against Romania.
