ROVERS' latest signing Johann Vogel will wear the vacant number 8 for the club.

The Swiss star who joined on a two-and-a-half year deal last week will wear the number 8 made available after Robbie Savage's departure in January.

Vogel could play his part for his new club before the season is out after the club received word that international clearance had been granted.

"By all accounts it has come through so we are delighted with that," said boss Mark Hughes.

"So he's available for selection, he's trained well as he always has done since he walked through the door in fairness.

"So he may well come into the equation, but he hasn't had any games which is a little bit of concern, but if I was to involve him he won't let us down."
