STEVEN Reid is hoping Sunday's match against Birmingham City will be a special occasion.

Rovers travel to St. Andrews on Sunday with the aim of a victory and hopefully a place in next season's Intertoto Cup, and Reid can't wait.

"We've got a great chance," said the Rovers midfielder. "We are just a point behind Villa now, so if we win against Birmingham on Sunday and they fail to get a result against West Ham then we'll finish in sixth place.

"Sixty-one points in other seasons has been enough for Europe and hopefully it will be the same again."

But Reid knows that it will be a tough encounter, especially with Alex McLeish's side battling to stay in the division. Not even a victory for the home side will guarantee safety as a win for Fulham over Portsmouth would send Birmingham down regardless of the result at St. Andrews.

"It is always a decent atmosphere there but I think with the results needed it will make it that bit more special, it is a game we are looking forward to.

"Their fans are going to get behind them, it is always a tough game down there, and with them needing to get a result against us it is going to be even tougher."
