Clear of injuries for final game
MANAGER Mark Hughes has a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of Sunday's season finale against Birmingham City at St. Andrews.
After 37 league games Rovers go into the final match with plenty to play for, and to have a full compliment of staff available for selection is a major boost for Hughes.
David Dunn has missed the last couple of games with a groin injury, but having trained with the rest of the group on Friday, Dunn is eager to face his former club.
"Dunnie has trained today so obviously he'd love to be involved," said Hughes. "We'll make a decision on David nearer the time because he's missed a lot of training.
"But he's desperately keen to be involved but we'll have to make a decision nearer the time."
Another player who could return for the final game of the campaign is striker Benni McCarthy. The South African international has been absent from the Rovers squad for the last two outings due to a hamstring tear, but again having trained this Friday he could come into contention.
"Benni is okay, he has trained as well, so we are pretty clear of injuries at this moment."
Zurab Khizanishvili missed a couple of days training with a slight hamstring injury, but the Georgian should be fit for Sunday, therefore Hughes is expected to select from: Friedel, Reid, Samba, Nelsen, Warnock, Bentley, Emerton, Vogel, Pedersen, Santa Cruz, Roberts, Brown, Ooijer, Tugay, Derbyshire, Olsson, McCarthy, Dunn, Khizanishvili, Mokoena.
Rovers' allocation for Sunday's game at St. Andrews have now all been sold, but fans can see the game live at Blues Bar at Ewood Park. Happy hour with £2 a pint for Carlsberg and Thwaites starts at 12 noon and runs throughout the day. Sandwiches will also be available to purchase from the bar, or why not make a day of it and have our Rovers Roastie - a Sunday roast with all the trimmings - for just £6.75.
