Biography:
A powerful centre forward, Roberts joined Rovers for an undisclosed fee from Wigan Athletic in July 2006.
Scored eight times in the Latics' maiden Premiership campaign after moving to the JJB Stadium from West Bromwich Albion for £1.4m in January 2004, a figure that rose to £2m when he helped Wigan gain promotion to the top flight.
The pacy Grenada international has played in the Premier League previously with West Bromwich Albion and during a loan move to Portsmouth.
His first year with Rovers was disrupted by a broken foot sustained in October, but he returned towards the end of the season grabbing five goals in his last six games.
