YOUNG striker Joe Garner is set for a move to Carlisle United after the 19-year old agreed a three year deal with the Cumbrian side.

Carlisle have smashed their transfer record to secure the services of the England under 19 international, paying Rovers £140,000 with the Ewood Park club retaining a sell-on percentage should Garner move on in the future.

The Blackburn-born striker enjoyed a four-month loan spell at Brunton Park last season, scoring five times in his 18 games, and despite interest from a number of clubs, Garner chose to move permanently to Carlisle United.

The Cumbrian side have applied for an emergency loan to allow Garner to play in their opening league game away at Walsall on Saturday.
