GLYN Hodges' Rovers Reserve side were involved in an eight-team tournament in France over the weekend, and came through to finish third with an unbeaten record.

With no Reserve game scheduled, Rovers took the opportunity to send an under 20 side out to Marseille to take part in the international tournament.

The format saw Rovers grouped with Lyngby BK of Denmark, US Marseille of France and NK Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia, with each team playing each other in 50 minute matches.

The first two games involving Rovers ended goalless against Dinamo and Lyngby, but a 1-0 win over Marseille saw Rovers finish second in their group with the Croatian side top, Alan Judge getting the winning Rovers goal.

That meant Rovers faced a play-off against the second place team from the other group Mlada Boleslav. The hour-long game was won comfortably 3-0 with the goals coming from Josh O'Keefe, Keith Treacy and Dean Winnard.

The result meant that Rovers finished an unbeaten third in the competition. The winners were NK Dinamo Zagreb who defeated Japanese side Komazawa University F.C. in the final.
